Terms of Service

Last updated October 15, 2026

The short version

  • Your design preview is free, and asking for one never commits you to anything.
  • Plans are month to month. There's no long-term contract. You're billed once a month.
  • Payments for past months aren't refundable. If you cancel, the current month isn't refundable either once your website has been live for at least one business day in that billing month.
  • You own your domain name and the content you give us.
  • We work hard to get you found online, but nobody can honestly guarantee rankings, traffic or leads.

1. About these terms

These terms apply when you use pinestateweb.com, request a design preview, or sign up for a website plan with Pine State Web (“we”, “us”). “You” means the person or business using our website or services. By requesting a preview or starting a plan, you agree to these terms. If you're signing up on behalf of a business, you confirm that you're authorized to do so.

Our services are for businesses. Please also read our privacy policy, which explains how we handle your information.

2. Free design previews

A design preview is a free, personalized homepage concept that shows a direction for your website. Requesting or receiving a preview doesn't commit you to buying anything, and there's no charge if you decide not to go ahead. We may decline a request if we don't think we're the right fit for what you need.

The preview is a starting point for a conversation, not a finished website. We'll refine the design with you once you choose a plan.

3. Website plans

Our current plans are Starter ($65/month) and Business ($89/month). What each plan includes is listed on our pricing page. Before we start building, we'll confirm your plan and these terms with you in writing.

Plans are month to month. There's no long-term contract.

4. Billing and payments

  • Plans are billed monthly, at the price shown for your plan when you sign up.
  • Any applicable taxes are added where the law requires them.
  • If we ever change the price of your plan, we'll tell you at least 30 days before the new price applies, so you have time to decide whether to continue.
  • Please keep your payment details up to date so your website stays online without interruption.

5. Refunds

We keep refunds simple, so you always know where you stand:

  • Past months: payments for previous billing months aren't refundable.
  • The month you cancel: if your website has been live for at least one business day in the billing month when you cancel, that month isn't refundable either.

A “business day” is Monday through Friday, excluding public holidays. Because your website stays online through the end of the period you've paid for, you keep the full benefit of every month you're billed for.

6. Cancelling your plan

You can cancel with 30 days' notice. If you cancel, we'll send you a copy of your site's text and images.

To cancel, just email us at dylan@pinestateweb.com. When your plan ends, we take the website offline. Your domain name stays yours, and you're free to point it to another website or provider.

7. Updates and additional work

Each plan includes a set amount of content updates each month, as listed on the pricing page. Requests such as new hours, photos or a service change are covered by those updates.

Work beyond your plan's included updates, such as new features or extra pages, is quoted and approved by you before we start.

8. Your domain and content

You own your domain name. If you don't have one yet, we'll help you register it in your name. Domain registration is billed separately by the registrar.

The text, photos and logos you provide remain yours. You confirm that you have the right to use any text, photos, logos or other material you send us, and you give us permission to use, edit and publish that material on your website so we can provide our services.

We'll only show your website in our portfolio or marketing with your permission.

9. Your responsibilities

  • Give us accurate information about your business, services and contact details
  • Review your content before it's published and let us know about anything that needs correcting
  • Make sure your business's claims on the website, such as licenses, insurance or warranties, are true
  • Keep your contact and payment details up to date
  • Reply to our questions in a reasonable time so we can keep your project moving

10. Acceptable use

You agree not to use our services, or the website we build for you, to:

  • Break any law or regulation
  • Publish content that's misleading, defamatory, or infringes someone else's rights
  • Send spam or distribute malware
  • Try to interfere with our systems or other customers' websites

We may remove content that breaks these rules, and we'll tell you when we do.

11. Hosting, availability and third parties

We host your website with reputable providers and take reasonable steps to keep it fast, secure and backed up. Like any online service, websites can occasionally be unavailable, for example during maintenance or an outage at a provider we rely on. We can't guarantee uninterrupted availability, but we'll work to fix problems promptly.

Some features may depend on third-party services, such as domain registrars or map and form tools. Those services are covered by their own terms.

12. Search rankings and results

We build websites with strong local SEO foundations so search engines understand what you do and where you work. But search engines decide rankings on their own, and they change how they work over time. We don't guarantee any specific rankings, traffic, calls or leads, and you should be wary of anyone who does.

13. Limitation of liability

Our services are provided “as is”. To the extent allowed by law, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits or lost business, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim.

You agree to cover any claims, costs or damages that arise from content you provide or from your business's use of the website in breach of these terms.

14. Suspending or ending service

If a payment remains unpaid after we've contacted you about it, or if these terms are seriously broken, we may suspend the website until the issue is resolved, or end the service. We'll always try to contact you first. We may also choose to stop offering a service, and if we do, we'll give you reasonable notice and help you move your website and content elsewhere.

15. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maine.

16. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We'll change the date at the top of this page, and if a change affects your active plan, we'll let you know before it takes effect.
